Many of Jim Taylor’s films looked at the fishing industry of the North East, the characters involved with it and the changes which took place over the years. His father worked aboard fishing boats and through this Jim was familiar with many of the men of that generation who worked in the industry. In documenting these stories, Jim managed to capture the lives of the people who worked in the fishing during the years of critical change in the 20th century. One of these people was Codling Willie Whyte who came from a family of fishermen. Jim interviewed Codling Willie on a number of occasions.
