As with other parts of the country, in the years that followed the end of the war, the people of Fraserburgh remembered those who had died by taking part in Armistice Day parades. George Rattray captured one of these parades in what is most likely the late 1950s. It’s sobering to think that the people seen in the film would have been directly involved with the war effort, some in active combat, and that they most likely had all experienced the pain of losing people close to them during these years. During the service mentioned within the article below, Rev. J.H.F Wilson gave a moving address about the impacts of war.
