A branch of the Air Training Corps. (ATC) was also established in Fraserburgh during the war years. John Bell McDonald, whose other films are featured within the project, was not only a talented amateur film maker but also a Flight Lieutenant and established the ATC in Fraserburgh in 1941. He shot a promotional film, featuring members of the Fraserburgh squadron (shot partly in the playground of the Central School), which was used nationally to recruit new members.
