In 1961, Maggie Jane Minty followed 1952’s ‘Come With Me’ with ‘Gems, frae my pen’, a further collection of poems in both Doric and English. As well as poems about her one time home, St. Combs, and her adopted home at the time, Rosehearty, her poetry covered themes of reflection, religion and family life. In the film featured here, Maggie Jame Minty can be heard reading her poem ‘Torn Breeks!’ from the publication.
