Please note, it has since been pointed out that this film could not have been shot by J.B. McDonald as he sadly passed away in 1958. It was obtained with other films shot by J.B. McDonald, so the J. McDonald in the title screen could be a relative? If you have any information about this it would be great to know so please get in touch!

A Miniature Railway - 1964

This great film captures the construction and eventual opening of the miniature railway at Fraserburgh. ‘The Kessock Knight’ served as a source of summer entertainment for visitors and locals alike until its closure in 1998. The train is now part of the exhibition at Fraserburgh Heritage Centre.

The film shown on this page is just a short clip from the film. The full length film can be viewed in the archive.
