Some of the films donated by Gavin Holman show the family in their garden in ‘St Elmo’ on Strichen Road and at The Broch beach. These films offer a really lovely glimpse in to the lives of a family living in the town during the 1930s.

The Benzie family also included Dr Jean Benzie who spent many years in India as a medical missionary, eventually returning to live in Fraserburgh with an adopted daughter from the orphanage she worked with. She features as one of the “Famous Brochers” in the Heritage Centre and the booklet of the same name produced for “Fraserburgh 400”. Her sister Annie was an artist and lived in London before eventually returning to live with her sister in Fraserburgh.
