The contribution given to this project by Edith cannot be stressed enough. She not only kindly provided the permission to use the films recorded by her father but also agreed to provide her reminiscences about the content which really brought the images alive and added context to the moving images seen within this project.

The films recorded by the Rattray family over the years really capture the essence of owning a business on High Street in Fraserburgh during the late 1950s and the 1960s and serve as a visual documentation of how life once was in the town.

Edith has also very kindly provided a subsequent number of 8mm film recorded by her father which will be digitised and added to the archive to further the story of the Rattray family and of Fraserburgh during this era.
