Fraserburgh Casino
Following the closure of Rattray’s on High Street as a cafe and ice cream shop, the building was renovated and turned in to Fraserburgh’s first (and only) casino. The business, owned by the Rattray family, saw the shop’s billiard room turned in to a successful casino which ran for a few years before its closure due to changes in gambling licensing regulations under the Betting and Gaming Act in the late 1960s.
This short clip, from the full length video available in the archive, was filmed on the opening night of the casino.
