He took his life long passion for history and gathering stories and turned this in to a series of published works. Along with his audio visual recordings, Jim, with his wife Liz, wrote and published a number of books on local and national history such as North East Neuk (1993), Photographic memories : North-East coast in pictures (1993) and Aul Rosehearty Toon (1993) as well as the ones shown below. Jim also produced and released a series of documentaries using the images and stories from his recorded film content.
