John Bell McDonald was a prominent figure and well known in the local area. The work he produced, enabled by his talent and passion for film making, has meant that key events in the history of Fraserburgh have been captured and preserved for posterity. A small number of his films, which are now invaluable records of the town as it once was, are mentioned here. Although by no means an exhaustive representation of his work, this small sample is an overview of some of the films from a notable Fraserburgh documentarian.
